Syracuse allowed 84 points for the second straight game against the Saint Joseph‘s Hawks, but this time their offense wasn’t enough to make up for it. The Orange lost 84-70, disrupting a 27-game home winning streak against non-conference opponents.
Felisha Legette-Jack says her focus is immediately pivoting to defense.
“We’ve got to set the tone at the beginning that we’re going to be a defensive juggernaut team,” Legette-Jack said following the loss.
It was a tough pill to swallow as Syracuse prepares to host No. 11 Maryland on Wednesday. The Terrapins upset Duke 85-80 on Sunday to improve from No. 18 in the AP Top 25 ranking. When these teams clashed last November, Maryland won 83-81.
